volcanoes

Hi, I am posting this because my class was learning about the white island volcanoe and magma chamber's that are underneath the white island volcanoe. New Zealand's volcanoes only erupt once after years grass will grow on it. what I liked about it was that I could learn more about volcanoes and how they erupt.

  1. Hi Tiara, yes sadly we lost lives when the volcano in White Island erupted, Do you know who and why the White Island was given that name?

  2. Hi Razan I actually know why it been givin that name Whakaari was named "White Island" by Captain Cook on 1 October 1769. According to LINZ this name came from the dense clouds of white steam emanating from it. Alternatively, he may have been alluding to the guano deposits that once covered the island
